Schedule of UCA’s main events for the 2nd half of 2024

For the attention of clusters and members of the UCA, the schedule of main events for the 2nd half of the year

August

2 events of the ClusterINT project in Lviv and Kyiv, together with our foreign ambassadors, are planned for 27 August in Lviv and 28-29 August in Kyiv. They will be attended by more than 10 representatives of foreign partner organizations, UCA clusters, and partner organizations. Their main goals and objectives:

  • Discussing the directions and prospects of cooperation with foreign ambassadors, primarily joint initiatives and projects
  • Bringing our ambassadors closer to understanding the challenges and situation in Ukraine
  • Engaging new clusters and partners in cooperation with the UCA

Other events in August will include online meetings of the UCA clusters and some within the Accelerate GDT project.

On 25 July, a mini-conference will be held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on “Technologies 4.0 for SME development – roles, challenges, prospects”.

A joint meeting is also planned to discuss the EDIH competition results and establish cooperation between the clusters and the winners.

September

The main events of September were related to the evaluation of 2 competitions:

  • EU4Digital diagnostics of 28 Ukrainian clusters will allow 2-4 UCA clusters to be certified at the ESCA level
  • we will also receive the results of the EU-Ukraine cluster partnership call.

Discussions and online group meetings are planned as a result of these events.

The clusters are proposed to participate in a defense conference on 3-5 September in Kielce, Poland. The leadership of the RC Dual-use is currently considering the issue of budget availability.

Similarly, the budget issue is included in the proposal for a trip to the United States with the Mayor’s Club, scheduled for the end of September. However, clusters can already address these issues with their SMEs independently.

With Europeans returning from holidays, business activity is also expected to increase in some events that will be generated.

October.

Several business missions are planned for October:

  • On 9 October, a large online EU4Digital Facility forum is planned, where clusters that will receive ESCA certification will be honored
  • 8-11 October – Traditionally, APPAU invites IAM clusters to join a business mission to the MSV International Exhibition in Brno, Czech Republic. The exhibition will include the opening of the APPAU joint office in Brno.
  • On 10-11 October, the UCA delegation is scheduled to attend the Cluster meet Regions in Chișinău, Moldova

In October, the UCA is also planning a trip to the Scandinavian countries — dates and programs are to be determined.

November

  • 13-14 November — UCA clusters are invited to participate in an international exhibition in Warsaw on Ukraine’s recovery. Participation is important, as this conference will be the main event of the year for the promotion of Ukrainian business associations by the European Commission. Participation in the joint stand is due in August (cost up to UAH 100 thousand, 20 sq. m.).

December  

We are planning a joint conference to present the best practices of the UCA clusters. The date and program are to be determined.

This schedule is preliminary; it does not include individual events by sectors of the UCA RC and Committees and will be regularly updated.
