UCA proposals to support and develop innovative ecosystems
Supporting and stimulating innovative ecosystems in Ukraine is becoming a top priority for the business community and industry associations. Despite the significant potential in science and education, the thriving IT industry, and thousands of startups, Ukraine needs help establishing a solid foundation for a competitive economy. Regarding innovation development, Ukraine consistently ranks at the bottom among EU countries, and this situation has remained essentially unchanged for years.
In the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine, innovative ecosystems have suffered a severe blow, and trends of degradation have intensified in many sectors. Reduced demand for innovative solutions has become a burden on the prospects of many regions and industries. However, the war has also opened up new opportunities for Ukraine, as it has received substantial support from the European Union and other democratic countries. Innovative ecosystems have also received support, and the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance sees this as an opportunity for a comprehensive transformation and reboot of innovation ecosystems.
Together with experts, the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance has developed a document outlining our positions on key challenges related to supporting ecosystems during the war and their subsequent transformation.
In particular, the emphasis is placed on the need to focus on industrial and deep-tech startups, integration into European industrial value chains and ecosystems, adaptation to European programs, strengthening the role of business associations, and improving international cooperation.
The document provides detailed information on these growth areas in specific directions and fields of activity.
